Hi, I was playing with a friend who was using a different golf scoring program and we noticed a discrepancy between the stableford scoring.  For a 28 handicap I believe it should give you a stroke on all holes and 1 more stroke on the 10 hardest (hcp 1-10).  The Ohmygolf app was only giving 2 strokes on the 7 hardest holes (hcp 1-7). Both players had an index of 28.0.

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Hi,

The number of stroke that you receive depends on the course/slope rating of the course played.

If you feel that the received stroke calculation is wrong, you can adjust it at the beginning of the round. Maybe the course and/or slope rating are wrong in the ohmygolf database. Just let me know if you need to update it.
Maybe the other application doesn't have the same method of stroke calculation.

Hope it helps.

Hi Math,

Thanks for your prompt reply.  The slope rating is set to 113 for all tees.  I understand that the correction for handicap is done by multiplying by the slope rating and dividing by 113 (which should leave the index unchanged).  The course I am looking at is Bulbury Woods Golf Club.

Hi Phil,

The number of stroke received is indeed 28.

I just checked on the website and on the app and it gave me the expected results.

Check the scorecard I made for a hcp 28: http://www.ohmygolf.net/my_account/scorecard_view/7506

It gives you 2 strokes on hole with an s.i. less than 11 (1->10)

Maybe you lowered the amount of strokes at the beginning of the round ?

If you care to upload the scorecard to your account, I'll be able to get a closer look to it.

Hi Math,

Yes, I have put a card in the ohmygolf.net cards section and it does it correctly.  But on the ohmygolf.com site it comes up with a different result.
http://www.ohmygolf.net/my_account/scorecard_view/7507
http://www.ohmygolf.com/en/rounds/E79C31D9-9342-4AF9-8721-D66277DC1417

Is it because the .net site is using course rating of 71 and the .com site uses 68 (course rating for the yellow tees) as opposed to 71 par for the course?

I attach a jpg of the card from the main site.

Hi,

I'm only responsible for the ohmygolf.net application. It's a freware for windows mobile that I develop in my free time.

Ohmygolf.com for iPhone is a company that sells the iPhone application with the same name. You'll have to contact their support.

Sorry.
