Hi Cheesy

Ohmygolf 1.3.4 has been released.

I've added support for square screens, only for the main scoring screen for the moment.

Since I don't own such device, please send me feedback, bug reports or suggestions.

Improvements:
  • Summary screen at end of round
  • Square screen support (Needs to be enabled in preferences menu)

Bug fixes:
  • Couldn't see front 9 when viewing scorecard while playing
  • Tab order was wrong (Scoring screen)
  • Rounding error in strokes received calculator
  • The icon was missing!

Hi,

Thanks for a great website! Love it!

Just picked up golf for 8 months ago, so plenty to learn.

Here's my problem:

Tried to add my local course but the thing is my local course has 2 additional holes:- one on the front and the other on the back 9 for repair purposes. So that makes it 20 holes. The thing is, I cannot put in the extra holes as you don't have an option for that.

As it is, I played there last week and I can't put my score as I was playing on the "extra" holes.

Donno if any other players or courses out there are similar to mine. But I would appreciate if you could rectify problem for me.

Keep up the good work!

Hi!

That's an unusual situation.. I've never seen a course with more than 18 holes.

It's impossible, technically, to add two more holes on this course.

If this situation is temporary (two holes are being repaired), you can add another course with the two extra holes instead of the ones being repaired.

Sorry for the trouble, but 20 holes is not an official golf course format Smiley

Thanks.
Thing is, this is what we have to do at my local course. They will close 1 hole for repair and maintenance and so we would have to play on the "extra" hole as the 9th hole. So we would still end up playing 18 hole golf, ie the standard format. (No.....we haven't developed a brand new way of playing out here.  Wink At least not yet.)
But it's ok. Will do what you suggested.
I do have another question though.
I have tried downloading a new course to my pda but i get this prompt all the time. Error: Cannot connect to ohmygolf website. Check your connction and the website URL.
I have no trouble accessing other website using my pda.
What can do?

As a temporary solution you can download the courses via your browser and manually send it to your device (Method described here)

Are you using a proxy server to connect to the internet ? Are you connected through a direct connection or using Activesync ?

Check in the preferences that the URL is http://xml.ohmygolf.net

Can you run the test in the Preferences window with your username and password ?

Sometimes I have to hit the "Get course list" button two times before it connects .. don't know why .. but you can try that Smiley

Great Product!  Grin
Hi Math

Good job!  I like the look of Ohmygolf and find it very easy to use.  I do have one comment/suggestion.

Unless I'm wrong, the scorecards are listed as of the date you enter them.  Since I may not enter my score on the date I played, it would be nice if I could enter the date played when creating the scorecard.  The filename could also be generated based on the date played instead of the date the score was entered and the scorecard listing would be the actual date played.

Hi!

I don't really understand why you would enter scorecards when not playing ..

If you want to add scorecards on the website, you can enter them directly in your browser

You can also add them with your PocketPC, upload them to the server, import them and edit the date.

Scorecards are not meant to be stored on your device, once you finished your round, you upload it to the server and voila!

That's how I see it .. Wink

Let me know if this solve your problem Smiley

Well, first, I don't always bring my PPC to the golf course.  So I capture the info and enter it later.

Second, I like to review my scorecards and Ohmygolf provides a nice, clean layout.

Until your reply, I didn't realize everything you offer online.

Thanks for the quick response.
